Drinking This White Wine? Try This Instead!
Lover of white wines and tired of reaching for the same thing, but not quite sure what white wines to try next?
Well, if you’re a lover of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, you’ll want to give these different varieties a try! Check out the white wine suggestions below to pick up a new white wine to try!
Chardonnay
Are you a lover of full-bodied white wines?
Try out Viognier! If you like Oaked Chardonnay, I know you’ll love Oaked Viognier. This wine will be medium to full-bodied with similar flavors to Chardonnay like peach, pineapple and vanilla. Viognier will often display more floral notes than what you’ll find with Chardonnay.
Look for wines from Barossa Valley, Central Coast California and even Texas! If you want to splurge, try out Condrieu from France!
Sauvignon Blanc
Lover of a light white wine with bright acidity and citrus flavors?
You have to check out Grüner Veltliner! This light white wine is perfect for Sauvignon Blanc lovers. You may also venture out and try a dry Riesling - look for one from Clare Valley, Australia - which typically is bone dry and presents nice citrus flavors!
Pinot Grigio
Love those light, crisp white wines with fresh citrus notes and mineral notes?
Try picking up a bottle of Albariño next time! Look for wines from Spain - the Rias Baixas region! You’ll get a bright, clean white wine with those same beautiful citrus and mineral notes you can pick up on in a Pinot Grigio. If you like something with a little bit of effervescence, look for a bottle of Vinho Verde from Portugual as these white blends typically use Albariño as the primary grape.
