BOXT Profile Four & Party Ham Rolls
I think we all know that these ham rolls are ESSENTIAL to a party - even if it’s just a party for two at home! At least I know they’ve always been a staple for me, starting from when I was young, my Mom always made these for any fun occasion!
I’m thrilled to be working with DRINK BOXT as their Chief Wine Educator to bring you amazing food & BOXT wine pairings ALL WEEK LONG! I hope I can help you find a favorite pairing too!
Full recipe below along with some fun notes on why this wine paired with these party sandwiches is so SO GOOD. Don’t forget that you can use code GUIDEDVINES20 at www.drinkboxt.com at any time for $20 off your first month of BOXT!
Ingredients:
1/2 Tbsp Minced Onion
1/2 cup Butter (softened)
1 Tbsp Mustard (can use Dijon or Yellow! I’ve tried both and they are equally delicious!)
1 Tsp Worcestershire
1 Tbsp Poppy Seeds
12 Sandwich Rolls (I used Brioche rolls but also frequently use Hawaiian Rolls for a little sweetness)
Deli Ham (I used two slices of ham per 6 rolls)
Swiss Cheese (if you want it extra cheesy use two slices of Swiss per 6 rolls)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cut rolls in half
Mix together onion, softened butter, mustard, poppy seeds and Worcestershire
Spread mixture to cover bottom layer of rolls
Add ham & cheese on top of mixture
Use any remaining mixture to spread over ham & cheese
Place tops of rolls on and cover in aluminum foil
Bake for 20 min or until cheese is melted
Wine Pairing notes:
BOXT Profile Four is a crowd pleaser… just like these ham rolls! The wine’s vibrant yet soft notes are perfect paired with the ham as it packs just enough flavor but without overpowering the ham’s lighter flavor. The dry fruitiness is the perfect match to the savory and nutty characteristics of the brioche buns and the swiss cheese and complements the mustards tangy & spicy (in the case of Dijon) notes!
Cheers!
